Shorter pays farewell visit to Derian

Lebanon's Grand Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, on Wednesday welcomed at Dar al-Fatwa British Ambassador to Lebanon, Hugo Shorter, who paid him a farewell visit upon winding up his diplomatic mission in Lebanon.

Later, Mufti Derian met with former Minister Ghazi Aridi, who described his meeting with the Mufti as "fruitful."

On emerging, Aridi wished a swift birth of the new government based on respect for the Constitution and the powers of every statesman.

On the other hand, Mufti Derian contacted by phone House Speaker, Nabih Berri, and Prime Minister-designate, Saad Hariri.
