Defense Minister Receives His German Counterpart

Baghdad, Iraqi Defense Minister Irfan Mahmoud Al-Hayali discussed with German Defense Minister Ursula von der Lien the joint military cooperation between the two countries and the expansion of its horizons.

Al-Hayali said during a meeting with the German Defense Minister Ursula von der Lien and the accompanying delegation that "Germany is one of the partners in Iraq in many matters, especially its role in the international coalition against Daesh gangs, and its training courses to Iraqi security.

The Minister of Defense thanked Germany for the recent grant of treating the wounded from our heroic armed forces.

"We look forward to expanding the horizons of future military cooperation between Iraq and Germany in terms of training, equipping, arming and advanced intelligence work, which will contribute to building the military institution professionally and efficiently."
