Iraq rejects US intervention in its internal affairs
Baghdad, Iraq refused the US intervention in its internal issues, especially issues of internal security reform.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Mahjoub said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continued the statement issued by the US Embassy in Baghdad on the effectiveness of unilateral US sanctions against the neighbor of the Islamic Republic of Iran."
"The Ministry would like to point out that the second part of this statement goes beyond diplomatic norms and mutual respect for the sovereignty of states as a well-established principle in international law. Iraq refuses to interfere in Iraqi internal issues, especially the issues of internal security reform and the status of Iraqi security forces under the authority of the Prime Minister, and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
"Iraq is looking forward to the Embassy to delete those statements inconsistent with international norms and avoid its recurrence in the future, and observance of the rules of international law governing its work in Iraq as the host country."
