Palestinian Football Chief Thanks KSA Leadership on Approval for the National Team, to Play in Ramallah
Ramallah, The President of the Palestinian Football Federation Major General Jibril Rajoub thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Crown Prince for the approval given to the Saudi national team to play a match, on the Palestinian territories, in the context of the Asian World Cup qualifiers against Palestine on October 15, at the Martyr Faisal Husseini Stadium, in Ramallah, Palestine.
In a statement issued by the Palestinian Football Federation today, he expressed great thanks of the Palestinian sports family of the General Authority for Sport and the sportsmen in the Kingdom for accepting the invitation.
Rajoub said: "This step is a historic moment in the status of Palestinian sports, because of its political implications that reflect the firm commitment of Saudi Arabia with regard to Palestine, as it has always considered the Palestinian national identity as an element of existence.
He added that this step is a message to the occupation is that the Palestinians are not alone, hoping that this historic position of the Kingdom will motivate others to visit Palestine and play on its land, henceforth corroborate the right of Palestinians to play on their land as approved by all the regulations of the continental and international federations.
