President Receives An Official Invitation From King Abdullah II To Visit Jordan
BAGHDAD President Barham Saleh received an official invitation from King Abdullah II to visit Jordan.
A presidential statement said, "President Barham Saleh received, at al- Salam Palace in Baghdad on Thursday morning, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, where the meeting discussed the relations between the two countries and means of developing them in the interest of the two brotherly peoples,"
Saleh stressed during the meeting the importance of strengthening ties of brotherhood and enhancing constructive bilateral cooperation between Iraq and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, stressing the need to activate cooperation in the economic, trade and security fields between the two countries, praising the positions of the Kingdom of the government and the people to support Iraq.
In turn, the Jordanian foreign minister conveyed a verbal message from King Abdullah II to the President of the Republic, congratulating him on his assumption of his post, stressed Jordan's keenness to strengthen relations with Iraq in all fields. Safadi also sent an official invitation from the King to President Saleh to visit Jordan.
The Jordanian Foreign Minister, Barham Salih, also conveyed his greetings to King Abdullah II and his wishes for health and prosperity and the Jordanian people for further progress and prosperity, promising to meet the king's invitation soon.
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi arrived in Baghdad on Monday morning for an official visit during which he also met Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi.
