Workshop on strengthening energy capacity building

Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, Dr Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza patronizes the first theoretical and training workshop on applications and solutions for energy efficiency.

The five-day workshop is staged by the Sustainable Energy Unit in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

Two consultants from the Austrian Con Plus Ultra company specialized in the field of review and assessment of energy for large, small and medium-sized enterprises are scheduled to address the workshop that aimed at supporting institutional capacity building in the energy sector in line with the national renewable energy and energy efficiency plans.

Dr. Mirza said the workshop highlights the ongoing efforts to promote awareness of energy efficiency practices and building national institutional capacities of government and private sectors.

He pointed out the abundance of international energy service providers specializing in energy auditing for industrial, residential and other facilities, noting the young national institutional potential who are enthusiastic to take on public demand, noting the climatic conditions that play a key role in increasing the demand for efficient energy.
