Bou Habib receives condolences call from his Danish counterpart, stresses need for implementing UN resolutions


Caretaker Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib received a phone call from his Danish counterpart Lars Lokke Rasmussen, offering his condolences for the victims and wounded who fell as a result of the Israeli strike that hit Beirut last Tuesday evening.

Minister Rasmussen expressed his country’s support for “the Lebanese government’s position and Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” stressing “the need to respect international legitimacy for the benefit of all countries, particularly small countries, to preserve international peace and security.”

For his part, Minister Bou Habib thanked his Danish counterpart for his support, and reiterated “the need for the full and comprehensive implementation of Security Council Resolution 1701.”

He added that “implementing all UN resolutions in the region would end the cycle of periodic wars and build for lasting peace,” explaining that “military options would lead to a radical escalation of the conflict.”

The security committee concerned with implementing the security agreement between Iraq and Iran held a series of meetings in Sulaymaniyah today, Saturday.

A statement by the media office of the National Security Adviser stated that “based on the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shiaa al-Sudani, the security committee concerned with implementing the security agreement between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran held a series of meetings in Sulaymaniyah today, Saturday, headed by National Security Adviser Qasim al-Araji, and in the presence of the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Bafel Talabani, and members of the committee, government officials, military and security leaders from the center and the region.”

The statement added that “holding a series of continuous meetings comes in order to implement the paragraphs contained in the security agreement between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

KSrelief Distributes 3,534 Food Baskets in Yemen


The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) distributed yesterday 3,534 food baskets to 278 of the neediest families in several Yemeni governorates, as part of the 2024 Yemen Food Assistance Distribution Project; 23,327 individuals benefited from the assistance.

Committed to granting humanitarian aid, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will distribute, through KSrelief, food aid to 253,659 people in need in nine Yemeni governorates. This year-long project targets displaced and vulnerable families affected by the crisis.

The Anti-Crime Directorate detachments arrested a wanted suspect for murder and three others for forgery in Baghdad.

The Directorate stated in a statement: The detachments of the Baghdad Anti-Crime Directorate / Al-Habibiya Office for Combating Crime arrested an accused for committing a murder within the area of responsibility, where his statements were recorded with a confession initially and judicially, and the investigating judge decided to detain him in accordance with the provisions of Article 406 of the Penal Code.

It added that the anti-crime squads executed arrest warrants against a number of defendants for stealing sums of money, residential homes, commercial stores, and stealing motorcycles, including three others for forgery within the Kadhimiya Anti-Crime Office, where legal measures were taken against the arrested defendants and they were brought to justice to receive their just punishment according to the law.

KSrelief Distributes 930 Food Baskets in Sudan


The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) yesterday distributed 930 food baskets in Gedaref State, Republic of Sudan, benefiting 4,420 individuals. The aid is part of the second phase of the food security support project in Sudan for this year.

This assistance is part of the humanitarian and relief efforts that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provides through KSrelief to support countries and people in need worldwide.

The Federal Police forces arrested an accused in his possession of narcotic pills and drug use tools in Baghdad.

The Federal Police Command stated in a statement that within the operations of pursuing drug dealers and users, a force from the Second Federal Police Brigade was able to arrest one of the accused wanted by the judiciary according to Article (28 Narcotics) in the Nahrawan area east of the capital, Baghdad, where he was caught red-handed and in his possession (60 tapes of narcotic pills of various types, a drug use pipe, in addition to a sound pistol and 4 Kalashnikov rifle stores, and a motorcycle), and he was referred with the seized materials to the competent authorities to complete the necessary legal and investigative procedures against him.

Minister of Islamic Affairs Chairs 14th Executive Council Meeting of Conference of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs Ministers


The 14th Executive Council meeting of the Conference of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ministers in the Islamic World was chaired today by Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, and Executive President of the Conference Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh.

The conference, organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and held under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, will take place over two days starting tomorrow in Makkah.

Taking part in the conference are ministers of Awqaf and Islamic affairs, muftis, and heads of Islamic councils and associations from 62 countries.

The agenda for the current meeting was reviewed and the agenda for the upcoming ninth conference was unanimously approved.

Discussions tackled the General Secretariat’s proposal for the next conference and the decision was made to hold the 15th session of the Executive Council in the Kingdom of Morocco, following an invitation extended by Moroccan Minister of Endowments and
Islamic Affairs Ahmed Toufiq.

The meeting also delved into the working mechanism of the council and considered various suggestions on the theme proposed for the 14th tenth conference tailored to address the evolving needs of the ministries of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in view of the developments in the Islamic world.

Proposals for increased council operational framework were discussed, and submitted by member states for improving its efficacy. The Executive Council comprises eight member countries: Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Gambia, Kuwait, Egypt, and Morocco. It operates with a focused strategy to oversee the execution of general conference resolutions, issue pertinent decisions and recommendations, and devise conference agendas, reports, and relevant preparatory tasks.

Russian defenses shoot down 55 Ukrainian drones targeting the south of the country

Governor of Rostov Oblast in southwestern Russia, Vasily Golubev, announced that the province was subjected last night to a Ukrainian attack with 55 drones, which were shot down by Russian defenses without causing any casualties or injuries.

Golubev indicated that emergency services are working in the places where the wreckage of the drones fell.

The Governor of the Russian Belgorod Oblast, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced this morning, Saturday, that a fire broke out in one of the province’s fuel tanks as a result of a Ukrainian attack with drones in the Gubkinsky area, which was extinguished without any casualties.

Somali Police: 32 People Die in Attack on Beach Hotel


Police in Somalia said Saturday that 32 people died and 63 others were wounded in an attack the previous evening on a beach hotel in the capital, Mogadishu.

According to AP, Somali police spokesperson Maj. Abdifatah Adan Hassan told journalists that one soldier was killed in the attack and that the rest were civilians.

Another soldier was wounded in the attack, Hassan said. Witnesses reported an explosion followed by gunfire.

Health Emergency Operations Center: One martyr & six wounded in the raid on Deir Siryan

The Health Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health issued a statement this afternoon, indicating that “the Israeli aggression on the town of Deir Siryan led to the martyrdom of a 17-year-old boy and the injury of six civilians, five of whom were transferred to Martyr Ragheb Harb Hospital and their condition is stable, while another injured person in moderate condition was transferred to Nabih Berri Governmental Hospital in Nabatieh.”
