The Head of the Progress Party, Mohammed Al-Halbousi, received the elected Diyala Governor Adnan Al-Shammari and his Deputies Mustafa Talib and Ghazi Al-Faisal.

Al-Halbousi stressed during the meeting the necessity of joint cooperation among all partners to improve the reality of the governorate, rebuild it, develop its infrastructure, and provide the best services to the people.

Turkish Foreign Minister Calls on International Community to Do Its Part to Stop Genocide in Gaza

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan called on the international community to play its role in stopping the genocide in Gaza, stressing the need to pressure Israel and its supporters.

Fidan said in a post on the X platform today, Wednesday: “Israel’s impunity for its crimes encourages it to kill more innocent Palestinians every day.”

He added: “The international community must play its role in stopping the genocide in Gaza and must put pressure on Israel and its supporters,” stressing that Turkey will do everything in its power in this regard.

Turkey submitted its statement today, Wednesday, to join the genocide case filed by South Africa against Israel at the International Court of Justice.

Thus, Turkey becomes the seventh country to join the genocide case against Israel at the “International Justice”, after Nicaragua, Colombia, Libya, Mexico, Palestine and Spain.

Oil prices edge higher

Singapore, Oil prices recovered in Asian trading on Wednesday, but gains were capped by weak demand.

Brent crude futures rose 17 cents, or 0.16%, to $76.60 a barrel by 0615 GMT. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude rose 17 cents, or 0.23%, to $73.37.

The API figures showed crude stocks were up by 176,000 barrels in the week ended August 2, the sources said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Gasoline inventories rose by 3.313 million barrels against analysts’ expectations for a 1 million bbl draw, while distillate stocks rose by 1.217 million barrels, a bigger build than anticipated.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration is due to release weekly inventory data on Wednesday.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein discussed today, Wednesday, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdel Aati, the conditions in the region and avoiding escalation.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: “Minister Fuad Hussein received, today, a phone call from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdel Aati, during which the bilateral relations between the two countries were reviewed and the importance of continuing coordination in the field of tripartite work that includes Iraq, Egypt and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was emphasized, and joint efforts to coordinate on the conditions in the region and exchange views with the aim of avoiding escalation and ensuring the intensification of efforts to spare the peoples of the region the scourge of wars.

Alba, Daiki Aluminium to establish Sustainable Aluminium Dross Processing Plant in Bahrain

Manama, Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the world’s largest single-site smelter, and Daiki Aluminium Industry Company, Japan’s leading aluminium product manufacturer, announced today a strategic partnership to establish a sustainable aluminium dross processing business in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
