Al-Hakim and Larijani discuss developments in the political scene in the region and relations between Iraq and Iran

The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, met this evening with the former Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Dr. Ali Larijani.

A statement by al-Hakim’s office stated that the two sides exchanged talk about the impact of the Arbaeen visit on the Iraqi and Iranian peoples and the peoples of the region, as al-Hakim indicated that Arbaeen is a ritual with its humanitarian, social and reform dimensions, and praised the efforts of Iraq, its religious authority, people, government, social activities and Husseini processions in hosting and caring for millions of visitors.

It added: The developments of the political scene in the region and the bilateral relations between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran were discussed, and they praised the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, as Al-Hakim called for stopping the war in Gaza and providing relief to the displaced and returning them to their homes, and he held the international community responsible for stopping the war and warned of its reper
cussions on the region and the world.
