Inspection of development works in Dair and Samaheej parks


Manama, Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry Undersecretary, inspected the development works at Dir Western Garden in Block 231, Dir Eastern Garden in Block 231, and Samaheej Garden in Block 236 in the Sixth District of Muharraq Governorate.

The visit was attended by MP Hisham Al Ashiri, Member of Parliament representing the Sixth District in Muharraq, Saleh Bu Hazza, Deputy Chairman of Muharraq Municipal Council, Khaled Al Qallaf, General Director of Muharraq Municipality, Fadhel Al Oud, Municipal Council member representing the Sixth District in Muharraq Governorate, and several ministry officials.

The Undersecretary emphasised the ministry’s commitment to developing parks and public facilities across Bahrain as part of its strategy to implement service projects and provide high quality services that meet citizens’ aspirations. He noted that the ministry is expanding projects to increase green spaces, improve infrastructure in parks and recreational are
as, and meet community needs.

The Dair Western Garden development project includes increased tree planting, installation of solar-powered lighting, and diverse sports equipment. The Dair Eastern Garden project in Block 231 involves adding play equipment for people with special needs, maintaining existing play areas, providing shaded seating, signboards, increased tree planting, and installing an irrigation system and solar lighting.

The Samaheej Garden project in Block 236 includes the maintenance of the Fareej playground, the play area, the installation of new play equipment, a modern irrigation system, pump room maintenance, and the installation of solar lighting.

The Undersecretary also discussed the tree planting plan for the Sixth District in Muharraq Governorate, which includes planting trees in several areas and streets as part of the national afforestation plan.

MP Hisham Al Ashiri commended the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Mi
nister, for its efforts in advancing national development and meeting citizens’ needs.

Councillor Fadhel Al Oud commended the collaborative efforts in executing these projects, which enhance the aesthetic and functional aspects of residential areas.

Foreign Minister holds meeting with Malaysian counterpart


Kuala Lumpur, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamed Hasan in Kuala Lumpur. The meeting coincicided with the official visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Malaysia for the coronation of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim ibni Sultan Iskandar as King of Malaysia.

The meeting focused on the strong relations between Bahrain and Malaysia and the significant development in various domains. It discussed means to enhance cooperation in political, economic, and investment sectors, in line with existing agreements to serve common interests.

The ministers discussed expanding cooperation through the activation of the High Joint Committee between the two countries and Bahrain’s membership in the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia, which Malaysia will chair in 2025. They also reviewed Bahrain’s initiative during its presidency of the 33rd Arab Summit to establish a partnership forum between the Arab League and the A
ssociation of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The meeting reviewed the outcomes of the Arab Summit hosted by Bahrain in May, presided by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Key initiatives from the summit included calls for an international conference to resolve the Palestinian issue, support for full UN membership for Palestine, and providing educational and health services for those affected by regional conflicts, in addition to initiatives on financial technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

The ministers discussed regional and international developments, efforts to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East, the ongoing conflict in Gaza, and the efforts for a permanent ceasefire, the release of hostages, and humanitarian aid delivery to civilians in Gaza.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Waleed Khalifa Al Manea, Ambassador of Bahrain to Malaysia, and senior officials from the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
