Haniyeh’s funeral in Tehran and burial in Doha

Hamas announced on Wednesday that the body of its political wing leader Ismail Haniyeh will be buried in Qatar, after an official funeral ceremony in Tehran, where he was assassinated.

A statement issued by the movement said, “Haniyeh’s body will be transferred to Qatar tomorrow, Thursday, after an official funeral in Tehran,” which declared 3 days of mourning.

The Iranian “Tasnim” News Agency confirmed that Haniyeh’s body will be buried in Tehran.

According to “Tasnim,” “the public relations of the Revolutionary Guards expressed in a statement its condolences to the heroic Palestinian people, the Islamic nation, the fighters of the axis of resistance, and the honorable Iranian people,” after Haniyeh’s assassination.

Jordanian Foreign Ministry: Israel’s assassination of Haniyeh leads to more tension and chaos in the region

The Jordanian Foreign Ministry condemned on Wednesday Israel’s assassination of the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran, stressing that it is “an escalating crime that will lead to more tension and chaos in the region.”

The official Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ambassador Sufian Qudah, stressed Jordan’s firm position in rejecting the violation of the sovereignty of states and international law, and in condemning political assassinations, violence and terrorism, regardless of their motives.

Qudah stressed the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities and take immediate measures to impose a halt to the Israeli aggression on Gaza and Israel’s violations of international law and UN resolutions, and to protect the security and stability of the region from the disastrous consequences of the continued Israeli aggression on Gaza, and the escalation of its violations of the rights of the Palestinian people and its crimes against
them.

He expressed Jordan’s condolences to the sisterly State of Palestine and its people, and to the family of Dr. Haniyeh and his companion, may God have mercy on them.

The official spokesman for the Ministry also condemned the Israeli aggression on the Lebanese capital Beirut yesterday, and Israel’s continued violations of Lebanese sovereignty.

He warned that these crimes will only lead to dragging the region towards the expansion of war and threatening regional and international security and peace.

After the assassination of Haniyeh.. China condemns and warns of further instability in the regional situation

China condemned on Wednesday the assassination of the head of the Hamas Political Bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, in a strike in Tehran, warning that this could lead to “further instability in the regional situation.”

Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said, “We are deeply concerned about the incident and strongly oppose and condemn the assassination.”

Hamas announced today, Wednesday, the assassination of its political bureau chief, Ismail Haniyeh, in an Israeli raid on his residence in Tehran.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said that “we are studying the dimensions of the incident of Haniyeh’s martyrdom in Tehran and will announce the results of the investigation later.”

Media sources said that the assassination was carried out by a missile launched from outside Iran.
