Shaqra, The fourth Shaqra Pepper Festival, which concluded yesterday, was a resounding success, helping sell large quantities of the region’s distinctive peppers and pepper-based products.

The event drew significant attention from government entities and enjoyed a massive turnout of over 91,000 visitors from all over the Kingdom.

Attendees enthusiastically engaged in the diverse activities at the festival, which helped increase sales and profits for farmers.

Organized by the National Agricultural Services Company, the 10-day festival generated noticeable economic and social activity. It featured sales and marketing of peppers and various agricultural products, alongside a wide array of events, activities and programs that appealed to visitors of all ages.

Oil prices rise amid fears of rising tensions in the Middle East

Oil prices rose on Wednesday from their lowest levels in several months, amid concerns that production will be affected by rising tensions in the Middle East.

Brent crude futures rose in European markets by $1.10, or 1.4 %, to $77.58 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude rose by $1.05, or 1.4 %, to $74.25.

Prices fell earlier in today’s session after US data showed an unexpected increase in crude oil and gasoline inventories.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration is due to release weekly inventory data later today.

Crude oil prices broke a three-session losing streak on Tuesday, as Middle East unrest continued to stoke supply concerns in today’s trading session.

Brent crude futures fell to their lowest levels since early January on Monday, and West Texas Intermediate crude futures touched their lowest levels since February as global stocks tumbled amid fears of a possible U.S recession after weak jobs data.

The Ministry of Planning held a joint meeting today, Wednesday, with representatives of the World Bank, to discuss the progress made in implementing projects funded by the World Bank, and the problems and obstacles facing their implementation.

The Director General of the Sector Planning Department in the Ministry, Basem Dhari, said in a statement: The meeting came to discuss the progress made in implementing projects funded by the World Bank, in addition to discussing the problems and obstacles presented to the ministry, especially in terms of inclusion and release of disbursement and taxes.

He stressed “the agreement to form multiple teams by the ministries concerned with follow-up from the ministry to solve all problems and obstacles, and follow up on the implementation of projects funded by the World Bank, in order to accelerate the pace of work in completing those projects.

How much did Netanyahu’s trip to the United States cost?

Bethlehem Ma’an – Hebrew websites revealed that the cost of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s last trip on board the Zionist Wing plane to the United States amounted to $520,000, or about 2 million shekels.

Channel 7 reported that Netanyahu’s trip to Florida to meet former President Donald Trump cost $73,000 (about NIS 300,000).

Israeli Defense Ministry representative Tami Roditch said, “Maintenance of the aircraft costs 47 million shekels over 5 years, or 8.1 million shekels annually.”

The head of the main aircraft group revealed that the cost of Netanyahu’s trip to the United States on a Wing Zion aircraft saved the country about half a million dollars, compared to El Al’s offer for the price of this complex trip. El Al’s offer was $980,000 without the flight to Florida.

Economy: Food stock in the northern governorates is sufficient for 6 months

Ramallah – Ma’an – The Ministry of National Economy said on Wednesday that the food stock in the northern governorates meets citizens’ needs for six months and flour for three months.

It added, “The supply chain of goods to the Palestinian market continues for various goods and items, and there is follow-up and coordination with suppliers to take the necessary precautions regarding preserving the stock.

The ministry indicated that purchasing activity in the market is stable and there has been no significant increase in the demand for any commodity, due to the sharp decline in citizens’ purchasing power and spending according to need and benefiting from previous experiences, especially the Corona crisis. The

ministry indicated that monitoring and follow-up operations of commercial movement between cities, especially in the northern governorates of the West Bank, face difficulties and obstacles as a result of the Israeli restrictions imposed on the movement of individuals and goods, including closures, check
points and continuous raids.

The ministry stressed the intensive control efforts implemented by the teams to control and organize the market, which resulted in the seizure of 142 tons of damaged goods, of which Israeli products constituted 72% of these seizures during last July.

The head of the Popular Mobilization Commission, Faleh Al-Fayyadh, received today, Wednesday, the new governor of Diyala, Adnan Al-Shammari.

During the meeting, Al-Fayyadh congratulated Al-Shammari on gaining the confidence of the provincial council and his election as governor. Public Health Emergency Operations Center: Israeli phosphorus shelling in Shebaa causes civilian injury


The Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health on Wednesday issued a statement confirming that today’s Israeli phosphorus shelling on the town of Shebaa resulted in a civilian injury.

The attack caused one resident to suffer severe respiratory distress, necessitating emergency treatment at Marjeyoun Governmental Hospital.
