Saudi Arabia to Host 19th Internet Governance Forum in December


Saudi Arabia will host the 19th Internet Governance Forum (IGF) from December 15-19, 2024, at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh.

The five-day event is expected to gather over 10,000 participants from 160 countries, including more than 1,000 international speakers.

IGF is a global multistakeholder platform. The event, organized by the UN since 2006, fosters discussions on public policy issues related to the internet, facilitates sharing information, exchanging experience, and working to come up with solutions.

The forum aims to reach consensus among governments, private sector, and non-profit organizations on policies for stronger internet governance worldwide.

Hosting IGF this year reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to digital development and its leading role in ICT and digital governance. It positions the Kingdom as a global destination for international conferences and showcases its commitment to the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

IsDB President Meets with Brunei’s Ministers of Home Affairs and Religious Affairs


Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) President Dr. Mohammad Al-Jasser has recently met with Brunei Darussalam’s Minister of Home Affairs Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman and Minister of Religious Affairs Badaruddin Othman to discuss issues of mutual interest. The meetings are in preparation for the European Economic Forum in Brunei and mark a new chapter of cooperation between the Bank Group and Brunei as a key and prominent member country.

Brunei Darussalam has been a member of the Islamic Development Bank since April 1986 and is actively working to accelerate economic diversification while seeking new drivers for further economic growth.

The Islamic Development Bank Group and Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam, the largest bank in Brunei, will co-host the “Islamic Development Bank Group Day in Darussalam” on September 12, 2024. This event will showcase mutual achievements and discuss future economic and investment opportunities for cooperation.

Reef Saudi Concludes Training Program on Mangrove Honey Production


The Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program (Reef Saudi) concluded its training program on mangrove honey production in the Eastern Region.

The event was attended by farmers, beekeepers, and honey production experts.

The training took place in Al Qatif Governorate and was part of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture Eastern Region branch’s initiative to improve sustainable rural agricultural development. Its goal was to increase awareness about beekeeping practices and the production of high-quality mangrove honey, thus improving the living conditions of coastal communities; it also aimed to promote the sustainable use of mangrove forests.

The training program covered various topics, including the benefits of organic honey, beekeeping, transitioning to organic beekeeping, and modern techniques to increase honey production.

It was an opportunity for participants to share experience and discuss best practices to produce mangrove honey.

Frusiya Najran: Upholding the Equestrian Heritage of the Region


The Frusiya Najran field is a significant landmark in the Najran region where equestrianism thrives.

It preserves the region’s rich cultural and historical identity, and is the place where, for 36 years, the local community passionate about horseback riding has come to indulge in the authentic sport for which the Kingdom’s citizens are renowned.

Situated east of Najran, the equestrian field covers an area of some 1,380,000 square kilometers. It has various facilities, such as a racetrack, 102 stables, and 10 stables dedicated to Arabian horses. The field accommodates 83 horse owners, 41 trainers, and 47 jockeys.

Frusiya Najran oversees the stables to ensure compliance with equestrian regulations and by-laws. It is responsible for granting permits to trainers and jockeys, registering horses participating in races, and securing financial and media support for the field for its events.

Hail Governor Receives Torch of Saudi Games 2024


Governor of Hail region Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz today received the torch of the third edition of the Saudi Games 2024 as it embarked on its promotional journey for the Kingdom’s largest national sporting event.

The governor commended the leadership’s unwavering support for the sports sector and athletes in Saudi Arabia. He emphasized how the Saudi Games symbolizes Saudi sports’ remarkable progress and continuous accomplishments. He extended his best wishes to all participants in this year’s competitions, encouraging them to pursue their goals and dreams. The governor expressed his delight at the torch’s visit to Hail, where it will explore the region’s prominent tourist, cultural, and historical sites, providing a visual narrative of the event.

During the event, Khloud Al-Shamri, a champion camel racer who secured first place in the First World Camel Endurance Championship 2024 in AlUla and fourth place in the Crown Prince Camel Cup, the first women’s marathon in Saudi Arabia in 2023, passe

Mishal Al-Shamri, a member of the Saudi tent pegging team and 2023 World Championship winner, also carried the torch.

The torch tour in Hail will stop at Al-Maghwah Park, where notable sports champions will carry the torch. It will then proceed to Al-Adham Park for further celebrations with other distinguished torch holders.

This year’s torch tour is crucial in promoting the Saudi Games 2024. It aims to explore key cultural, historical, and tourist sites, covering 47 famous locations across the Kingdom. Madinah Region Receives Torch of Saudi Games 2024


On behalf of Governor of the Madinah Region Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Principality of Madinah Region received the torch for the third edition of the Saudi Games 2024. The torch is a part of the promotional tour for the Kingdom’s largest national sports event. The event took place at the Islamic University of Madinah and was attended by students and athletes.

Starting from Wadi Al-Aqiq, the torch traveled through various regional locations, including the university, and concluded its journey at the As Safiyyah Museum and Park.

This year’s torch tour aims to explore key cultural, historical, and tourist sites, covering 47 famous locations across the Kingdom. Accompanied by notable champions and influencers recognized for their significant contributions and accomplishments, local communities are joining in the festivities of the Kingdom’s most prominent national sports event.
