97th Ordinary Session of Permanent Committee for Arab Media Held in Cairo

Cairo– The 97th ordinary session of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media was held here today in Cairo, chaired by Chairman of the Committee Dr. Nabil Jassim, and in the presence of President of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) Fahd bin Hassan Al Aqran, and President of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) Mohammad bin Fahd Al-Harithi.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s delegation was headed by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information for International Media Relations Dr. Khalid bin Abdulqadir Al-Ghamdi.

In his opening speech, Head of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation (SCMR) Karam Gabr expressed his hope that the committee would come up with practical recommendations to make the works of the Arab media more effective in the common issues.

The committee will discuss ways to activate the objectives of the Arab media strategy 2022-2026, following up the media action plan, the role of the media in addressing the terrorism and extremism, the Arab media map for sustainable development 2030, the electronic media, the educational media, and dealing with major international media companies, as well as the organizational issues of the Council of Information Ministers.
