The security forces in Maysan arrested one of the suspects, and seized weapons and equipment, in a security exercise in the south of the governorate.

Maysan Operations Command said in a statement: "A force from the second regiment, the ninety-seventh infantry brigade, carried out the security duty, which resulted in the arrest of a suspect in accordance with the provisions of Article (4 of terrorism) and the confiscation of a number of weapons, indicating that the accused and the seized items were handed over to the competent authorities."
