Abillamah says controversy between FPM, LF unhealthy

Lebanese Forces MP Eddy Abillamah said on Tuesday that the current controversy between the Free Patriotic Movement and the Lebanese Forces was unhealthy and had negative repercussions on the cabinet formation process.

Interviewed by the Voice of Lebanon radio station, Abillamah said ending this controversy required giving each party the representation it deserved in the new cabinet.

The LF lawmaker added that the President of the Republic had a say in the appointment of the Deputy Prime Minister, noting however that this prerogative was not consecrated in constitutional texts.
