Basra Anti- crime police detachments arrested two suspects of drug trafficking, one of whom is wanted in a murder case, after a clash and gunfire.

The Basra Police Command said in a statement: “The operation was carried out, according to accurate information, and after the two suspects opened fire on the detachment and clashed with it.”

It added: “One of the defendants was wounded in his legs, after the other accused tried to throw a hand grenade,” indicating that “an amount of drugs, a pistol and a hand grenade were seized.
