Al-ahsa: Al-Ahsa's summer markets are experiencing increased demand for locally grown okra, a crop known for being harvested three months after planting. This okra is highly valued for its small size, tender texture, light green color, and nutritional richness.

According to Saudi Press Agency, farmers in the region begin their harvesting early in the morning, sorting the pods daily due to consumer preference for small-to-medium-sized okra. Dr. Mohammed Al-Mouji, a professor at King Faisal University, emphasized the importance of daily harvesting, stating that allowing larger pods to remain on the plant can reduce fruit quality, harden the seeds, and slow the growth of new pods.

Agricultural specialist Abdullah Al-Salem highlighted that the summer harvest period is the most productive and continues through early August. In addition to okra, the historic Al-Ahsa Oasis is renowned for producing a variety of fruits and vegetables, such as watermelons, tomatoes, figs, limes, and cowpeas.
