Al-Baha Honey Festival Marks 18th Edition with New Attractions

Riyadh: Under the patronage of Al-Baha Region Governor Prince Hussam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, the 18th International Honey Festival will kick off on July 26, running for 15 days at Prince Hussam Park in the city of Al-Baha.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture branch in Al-Baha, Eng. Fahd Al-Zahrani, highlighted that honey is one of the region's most prominent local products. Approximately 3,900 beekeepers in the area produce an estimated 1,150 tons of honey annually.

The festival will feature 50 pavilions dedicated to sponsors, beekeepers, and participants. Each honey product showcased at the festival will undergo rigorous laboratory testing to ensure quality. Additionally, an award for the best honey product will be presented, encouraging quality improvement and fostering positive competition among beekeepers.

Al-Baha honey is both an economic and tourism asset for the region. The festival plays a significant role in promoting tourism and supporting honey production, underscoring its importance in the local economy.
