Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, announced the evacuation of five Iraqis from Sudan.

Al-Sahhaf said, in a statement received by the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA), that "an Iraqi family of five people was evacuated from Port Sudan, in coordination with the brotherly Jordanian side."

Al-Sahhaf sent a message to "the sons of the Iraqi community in Sudan that the Iraqi government is with them and is working for a safe evacuation that guarantees their safety."
