Al-Shammari: These Are The Reasons For Al-Kadhimi’s Visit to Saudi Arabia and Iran

Baghdad - The head of the Center for Political Thinking, Ihsan Al-Shammari, explained the reasons for Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi's visit to Saudi Arabia and Iran.

Al-Shammari said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: “One of the reasons for Al-Kadhimi’s visit to the two countries is to complete the mediation file between them, which was assigned to him by Iran,” noting: “Iran is enthusiastic about reconciliation, and Al-Kadhimi succeeded after five sessions between officials of the two countries.” .

He added, "Al-Kadhimi's visit, to Saudi Arabia in particular, was also to coordinate positions before the US-Saudi summit to be held soon."

He stressed that there has been a great development in the file of reconciliation between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and it is time to conclude this file with a meeting at the highest levels, especially after the success of the negotiations between them.

He explained, "The main file that Al-Kadhimi was carrying is the reconciliation between them, in addition to the relations between Iraq and the two countries and their development."

He indicated: “The internal decision to assume the personality of the prime minister, as if Al-Kadhimi, for example, is ahead of the external decision, and therefore he ruled out putting forward the files of Al-Kadhimi’s assumption of a second round during the visit to Saudi Arabia and Iran.”
