The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, chaired today, Monday, a meeting dedicated to following up on the priorities of the health sector projects, the progress of executive work, and the lagging projects that are witnessing the completion of their implementation.
The meeting discussed ways to overcome the financial obstacles facing hospital projects and infrastructure for the health sector, and means of implementing joint management of hospitals and introducing them to service.
Al-Sudani stressed, according to a statement by his media office, the importance of this sector and what it constitutes as a cornerstone of the services provided by the government apparatus to citizens.
According to the statement, the Prime Minister renewed his directives that the health system should handle everything related to the suffering of citizens, with regard to providing basic health services, and continuous work to develop the level of service provided to them. He also directed that priority be given to equipping hospitals and health centers with medicines and medical supplies, especially medical centers, specialized for cancerous and heart diseases.
