Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani described the birth of the Noble Messenger (may God bless him and his family and grant them peace) as a pivotal event in Arab and Islamic history and a herald of the end of corruption.
Al-Sudani said during his participation in the central celebration held on the occasion of the Prophet’s birthday: We congratulate all of you and the entire Islamic nation on this blessed and generous occasion.
He added that the difficult days that we lived through after the change in 2003, when sectarian killing gangs spread across Iraq, were driven by the fingers of strife to tear apart the Iraqis who had coexisted for many years as brothers and sisters in love.
He continued: With the unity of Iraqis, we were able to overcome those dark times that left many wounds in the souls of the people
He said: The great confrontation and the defining moment in the history of Iraq occurred when terrorist gangs invaded our provinces in northern and western Iraq.
He explained that these governorates were exposed to the most heinous and despicable criminal behavior committed by ISIS gangs
He said: All Iraqis rose and stood on the barricades from all religions, sects and nationalities to repel the aggression and liberate the land and people.
He continued: Today, we are all responsible for the necessity of perpetuating community friendliness and brotherhood, stressing that the government has taken it upon itself to be for all Iraqis, regardless of their affiliations.
Al-Sudani said: “We will not allow those who live on division and strife to plant their evil seeds among us.”
He stressed that the responsibility of clerics, elites, and intellectuals is to ensure that their discourse is unitary and does not emit the hateful toxins of sectarianism or racism.
He said: There is no truer opportunity for unity and love than belonging to the Great Messenger (PBUH).
