Albudaiwi Stresses Importance of Strengthening Prospects of GCC-China Strategic Partnership Relations

The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, emphasized the importance of enhancing strategic partnership relations between the GCC and the People's Republic of China. This statement was made during a meeting between the GCC Secretary General and the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Chen Weiqing, held at the General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh.

Albudaiwi confirmed that the meeting involved a discussion on the follow-up mechanism for the outcomes mentioned in the statement issued by the Riyadh Summit for Cooperation and Development between the GCC and China, which took place on December 9, 2022. The objective of this summit was to strengthen the existing strategic partnership between the two sides.

He also mentioned that the bilateral negotiations concerning the Free Trade Agreement were discussed, alongside reviewing developments in the regional and international landscapes, as well as issues of mutual concern.
