Riyadh: The Arab League of Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) commended the efforts of Arab countries in combating illiteracy.
According to Saudi Press Agency, in a statement issued today on the occasion of International Literacy Day, observed annually on September 8, ALECSO emphasized the significance of the Arab Decade for Literacy and Adult Education in unifying regional efforts and promoting lifelong learning.
ALECSO reiterated that literacy is a fundamental right and a vital gateway to social, economic, and cultural integration, serving as a cornerstone for empowering Arab individuals and enabling them to make meaningful contributions to their society.
