Cairo: Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Saleh Al-Husseini received Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Christian Saunders, at the embassy headquarters during Saunders' first official visit to Egypt since assuming his post.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Ambassador Al-Husseini hosted a dinner on this occasion, attended by ambassadors of Arab and Islamic countries, as well as representatives from the Arab League. During the event, Saunders provided a briefing on the agency's activities and humanitarian efforts to serve Palestinian refugees. He also shared the agency's vision for the next phase, focusing on education, healthcare, and youth empowerment.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Al-Husseini reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and its commitment to ongoing cooperation with Arab and international partners. He emphasized the importance of ensuring sustained support and funding for UNRWA and reinforcing its humanitarian role.
