Arab League Secretary-General Condemns Attacks on Gulf Nations’ Waters

Riyadh: Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit condemned the attacks targeting Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar's territorial waters, affirming that they constitute a flagrant violation of international law and a threat to the region's security and stability.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Aboul Gheit expressed the Arab League's full solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain following the Bahraini authorities' announcement of the arrest of elements linked to foreign parties who attempted to undermine its security and stability.

Aboul Gheit affirmed his rejection of escalation that would undermine mediation efforts and diplomatic initiatives aimed at resolving crises through peaceful means, warning that continued hostile actions could have serious repercussions on the region's security and stability. He renewed the Arab League's solidarity with the affected Gulf states and its support for the measures they are taking to protect their security and preserve their sovereignty.
