Cairo, Mar. 08, 2022, SPA -- Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit met on Tuesday with the Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Abdi Said Musa Ali, on the sidelines of the meetings of the 157th session of the Council of the Arab League.

Following the meeting, the Arab League Secretariat General said, in a statement, that Aboul Gheit listened to the comprehensive briefing given by the Somali minister on the political, security and humanitarian conditions in his country, including the developments of the electoral process.

During the meeting, the Secretary-General stressed the importance of Somali unity to face challenges and successfully overcome the upcoming elections, praising the progress made by the recent Somali parliamentary elections, looking forward to successfully reaching the presidential elections at the earliest time.
