Riyadh: The Arab Parliament strongly condemned the Israeli occupation’s attack on the city of Rafah and seizure of the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing. It emphasized that this dangerous escalation undermines efforts for a ceasefire and worsens the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe Palestinians have faced since the start of Israel’s brutal aggression on the Gaza Strip.

In a statement issued today, the Arab Parliament considered the Israeli attack a death sentence for the wounded and sick. The collapsed health system in the Gaza Strip, along with Israel’s control of the only safe passage for humanitarian and relief aid, makes the situation dire.

The Arab Parliament urged the international community, the Security Council, and the U.S. administration to exert maximum pressure on the Israeli occupying forces. The objective is to prevent further escalation and force Israel to agree to a sustainable truce and an immediate and permanent ceasefire.
