Riyadh: Aseer Region witnessed the rising of the Suhail star on the southern horizon today, a seasonal astronomical event traditionally linked to the arrival of milder weather, the approaching rainy season, and preparations for the agricultural season.

According to Saudi Press Agency, researcher Abdullah Al Mousa said the Suhail season in Aseer begins on July 29 and lasts for 13 days, bringing rainfall and fog while marking an important period for farmers, as seasonal fruits ripen and corn crops enter a key growth stage. He added that the Arab association with Suhail is based on generations of observation and experience in tracking seasons and climate changes, rather than on beliefs about the influence of the stars.

The season remains one of Aseer's most notable natural periods, with cooler temperatures, greener highlands, and increased agricultural and tourism activity.
