Saudi Arabia to host Middle East’s ‘largest music festival’

Saudi Arabia will host the largest music festival in the Middle East next year, with the participation of major international musicians. The festival will take place between 16-19 December next year and is part of an initiative launched by the Spirit of Saudi Arabia project under the tourism ministry, which highlights all tourism activities and events, scheduled to be held during the Saudi winter (from October 2021 until March 2022), according to official SPA. The United Arab Emirates signed a record 14-billion-euro contract for 80 French-made Rafale warplanes and committed billions of euros in other deals as President Emmanuel Macron kicked off a Gulf tour on Friday. Syria seizes amphetamine-based drugs headed for Saudi Arabia

Syrian authorities said on Tuesday they seized over 500 kilograms (1,000 pounds) of amphetamine pills known by the brand name Captagon hidden in pasta packages in a van bound for Saudi Arabia. An investigation was underway to determine who was behind the attempted smuggling, a statement on the official state news agency SANA said.
