Bahrain delegation updated about Saudi farming strides

Manama, Aug. 25 (BNA): A delegation led by the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to be updated about their farming and environmental practices.

The delegation also included Undersecretary for Municipalities Affairs Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and Undersecretary for Animal Resources, Acting Undersecretary for Marine Resources Dr. Khalid Ahmed.

During the visit, Al Mubarak met Minister Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen Al Fadhli and discussed cooperation In the fields of agriculture, landscaping, beautification, waste management and water use.

He hailed strong historical relations binding the two countries, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The delegation gave a presentation, highlighting the Government’s efforts, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to develop agriculture, expand the green area, and afforestation and step up beautification projects to ensure reaching the national goals that target zero neutrality by 2060.

The two sides agreed to continue cooperation and coordination to serve the common sectors and contribute to enhancing food security, developing vegetation cover and afforestation and beautification efforts.
