Bahrain Supports Saudi Arabia in Yemen Conflict and Condemns Houthi Attacks

Riyadh:The Kingdom of Bahrain has expressed unwavering support for Saudi Arabia's efforts in leading the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen. This coalition aims to assist the Presidential Leadership Council and the legitimate Yemeni government in ending the coup, restoring state institutions, and eliminating the threat of terrorism in Yemen.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Bahrain has also endorsed efforts to achieve a comprehensive political solution that aligns with the aspirations of the Yemeni people for security and stability, based on the three references.

The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the ongoing attacks by the Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia. These attacks have targeted civilians, civilian and economic facilities, and sacred sites in Makkah and Madinah. The cities affected include Riyadh, Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jizan, Najran, Taif, and Yanbu, along with Saudi vessels in the southern Red Sea and Bab Al-Mandab Strait.

Bahrain has affirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, supporting measures taken to protect its security, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens, invoking the right to self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. The ministry highlighted that Saudi Arabia's security is integral to that of Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council states under the Joint Defense Agreement.

The ministry has urged the United Nations Security Council and its permanent members to take responsibility in halting these attacks and their threats to maritime navigation and energy supplies. It emphasized the importance of implementing relevant resolutions, particularly 2216 and 2817, to maintain regional and international peace and security.
