Makkah: Balady+ has announced significant digital and spatial updates in Makkah and the surrounding holy sites as preparations for the Hajj season of 1447 AH intensify. These updates encompass over 11,800 landmarks and locations, aimed at streamlining the movement of pilgrims and enhancing the efficiency of crowd management. This initiative is being carried out in collaboration with the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the updates involve meticulous verification and updating of spatial data for critical landmarks and locations. Additionally, there is a focus on enhancing digital mapping services. This includes monitoring and updating shuttle transport routes that cover more than 990 kilometers, along with providing real-time transport schedules to assist pilgrims in reaching their destinations efficiently and safely.
The comprehensive updates also extend to essential services, ensuring that hospitals, health centers, Red Crescent stations, and public facilities are seamlessly integrated into the system. Furthermore, the updates link pilgrims' camps to approved campaign data, ensuring that all logistical aspects are covered. On the municipal services front, Balady+ has facilitated the issuance of seasonal permits for temporary outlets, processing of pilgrim housing requests, and the provision of health certificates, thereby ensuring a smooth and organized Hajj experience for all participants.
