Border Guard Thwarts Drug Smuggling Attempts Across Four Regions

Tabuk: The General Directorate of Border Guard has successfully thwarted multiple attempts to smuggle a large quantity of illegal substances across the Tabuk, Jazan, Aseer, and Najran regions. The contraband included 942,485 amphetamine pills, 2,695,731 medically regulated tablets, 2.8 tons of hashish, and 138 tons of khat.

According to Saudi Press Agency, these security operations led to the apprehension of 1,123 Ethiopian and 832 Yemeni individuals who violated border security, along with 25 Saudi citizens. The operations reflect the ongoing efforts of the border guard to curb illegal activities and maintain the security of the nation's borders.

The Ministry of Interior has called upon citizens and residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to drug smuggling or illicit trafficking. Residents in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern regions can report such activities by dialing 911, while those in other regions can use 999 and 994. Additionally, reports can be submitted to the General Directorate of Narcotics Control at 995 or via email at [email protected]. The Ministry assures all reports will be treated with confidentiality.
