Qatif: CEO Hisham bin Saad Aljadhey affirmed the authority's commitment to protecting consumer health, ensuring the safety of products available in the market, and reducing the circulation of non-compliant products. He stressed that product safety remains a top priority, particularly as Ramadan approaches and the need to strengthen food safety measures.
According to Saudi Press Agency, his remarks came during a meeting held today at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce with officials and representatives from food, pharmaceutical, and medical device companies, in the presence of the chamber's First Vice Chairman Raed Ibrahim Al-Mudaiheem. The meeting is part of a series of periodic engagements organized by the SFDA across the Kingdom to reinforce the investment environment in sectors under its supervision.
Discussions covered key challenges facing companies regulated by the SFDA, as well as development and empowerment opportunities to support innovation, streamline procedures, and enhance regulatory compliance. The CEO underscored the importance of public-private partnerships in advancing a more efficient, high-quality, and sustainable food, pharmaceutical, and medical device ecosystem.
He noted that empowering the private sector, strengthening compliance, simplifying procedures, and fostering innovation are strategic priorities for the authority and essential drivers for improving services and product standards. Such efforts, he added, positively impact public health and safety while reinforcing the Kingdom's regional and global competitiveness.
Company representatives raised questions and proposals regarding the authority's regulatory processes, aimed at improving compliance within their establishments and enhancing cooperation with the SFDA.
