Makkah: Director General of Civil Defense Major General Dr. Hamoud Al-Faraj emphasized the importance of prevention as the cornerstone of the Civil Defense General Directorate’s plan for the Hajj season during his speech at the Hajj Conference and Exhibition 2025.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Faraj outlined a comprehensive strategy for managing emergencies in key locations such as Makkah, the holy sites, and Madinah. This strategy is integrated into a general emergency plan that includes rigorous risk analysis and evaluation, thorough documentation of risks, and the formation of expected scenarios, tasks, and responsibilities. All these efforts are carried out in close coordination with relevant authorities to ensure a coherent and efficient approach.
Dr. Al-Faraj further highlighted the significant role of technology and artificial intelligence in enhancing Civil Defense operations during the Hajj. He pointed out that these tools are vital for improving prevention measures, raising awareness, predicting risks, and ensuring preparedness and response capabilities. This technological integration is done collaboratively with other agencies to maximize the safety and security of the Hajj pilgrimage.
