Commerce Ministry Conducts Over 20,000 Inspection Tours in August

Riyadh: The Ministry of Commerce conducted more than 20,000 inspection tours across markets, shopping centers, and retail outlets throughout the Kingdom in August to verify compliance with discount regulations. The nationwide campaign coincides with the 2026 commercial discount season, which began in early August and runs through October 31.

According to Saudi Press Agency, inspection teams checked the validity and prominent display of discount permits, compliance with authorized discount rates, clear display of prices on tags and electronic readers, and disclosure of return and exchange policies. The ministry urged consumers to verify discount licenses by scanning the official barcode on displayed permits to review discount details, percentages, duration, and establishment information.
