Commerce Ministry Orders Recall of Over 27,000 Chevrolet Vehicles for Airbag Issue

Riyadh: The Ministry of Commerce has announced a significant recall of 27,360 Chevrolet vehicles, citing a defect in the driver's-side airbag inflator. The affected models include Chevrolet Trax from 2010 to 2017, Cruze from 2012 to 2018, and Aveo from 2010 to 2017. The defect could lead to sharp metal fragments being expelled during a crash, posing a risk of serious injury or even death.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the ministry has advised owners of the impacted vehicles to reach out to General Motors through the toll-free number 8008200048. Alternatively, they can contact Aljomaih Automotive at 8007525252 or Universal Motors Agencies at 8002442244. These contacts will assist vehicle owners in scheduling the necessary repairs, which will be provided at no cost to the customers.
