Riyadh: A Czech falcon-breeding farm using Canadian and American bloodlines is taking part in the International Falcon Breeders Auction 2026, organized by the National Center for Falcons at its headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh. One participating farm is offering saker, peregrine, and gyrfalcons, using selected breeding lines with characteristics aimed at achieving competitive results.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Czech breeding farm representative Khalid Al-Marri said the farm relies on Canadian and American bloodlines and focuses on selecting birds with specific characteristics. He explained that different bloodlines give falcons distinct characteristics linked to their performance and competition results.

He said the farm's breeding approach is also influenced by the Czech Republic's cold climate, adding that selecting breeding stock goes beyond the type of falcon to include the breeding lines, inherited characteristics, and competition records of their offspring.

Al-Marri noted that falcons produced by the farm have achieved placements in international competitions and won first place twice at the King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival. Competition results, he added, are an important criterion for breeders when evaluating and selecting the bloodlines they will continue to develop.

He expected local falcon production to keep advancing in the coming years and achieve more first-place finishes as competition levels rise and local farms accumulate greater expertise in selecting bloodlines and developing their breeding programs.

He added that the auction gives breeders an opportunity to explore different bloodlines and breeding practices and to exchange expertise in one location. He also praised the National Center for Falcons for its services, streamlined procedures, and support for breeders throughout the 21-day auction.
