Baghdad The Chinese Customs Administration announced today, Saturday, a decrease in Iraqi oil exports to 32 independent Chinese refineries during last December.
The administration showed in its statistics, that “Iraq’s oil exports to independent Chinese refineries decreased in December by 33.4%, to reach 1.401 million metric tons, or the equivalent (10.227 million barrels), compared to November 2022, in which exports amounted to 2.104 million metric tons, or the equivalent to (15.359 million barrels), however, it increased by 159.9% compared to the same month of the year 2021, in which oil exports amounted to 539 thousand tons, or the equivalent (3.934 million barrels).
It added, “Iraq ranked fifth among the top ten oil-exporting countries to independent Chinese refineries, after it was ranked fourth last November,” noting that “Iraq came after Malaysia, which came in first place with an export of 7.430 million tons, and Russia came second with exports of 3.135 million tons, and Saudi Arabia came third with exports of 2.260 million tons, and then the UAE came fourth with exports of 2.152 million tons.
In December, independent Chinese refineries imported 19.116 million tons of crude, an increase of 12.2% over last November.
