New York:Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rassi, Deputy Minister for International Multilateral Affairs, represented Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah at the joint ministerial meeting of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on Jerusalem. This meeting was part of the High-Level Week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting focused on reviewing the latest developments in Jerusalem. Participants emphasized the importance of maintaining the city's historical and legal status and rejected any actions that might alter its Arab, Islamic, and Christian identity. They called for an immediate halt to Israeli violations against holy sites in occupied Jerusalem.

The session also discussed strategies to strengthen joint Arab and Islamic efforts to protect Jerusalem and support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. Participants urged the international community and the UN Security Council to uphold their duties in protecting holy sites and enforcing international law and relevant resolutions.
