Media Minister: King Abdulaziz International Competition attracts Holy Quran memorizers from all over the world
Riyadh, Minister of Media Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad has stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been exerting great efforts in serving the tolerant Islamic religion.
The Minister on the occasion of the patronization of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of International Competition for the Holy Quran Memorization, Recitation and Interpretation in its 40th session to be organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance at the Prophet's Holy Mosque late of Muharram month said that the competition is considered as an important event of many aspects that the Government of the Kingdom attaches to the service of the Holy Quran.
Dr. Al-Awwad added, "This prestigious Quranic contest is greatly supported by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense, and it has attracted memorizers of the Holy Quran from all over the world''.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance supervises the organization of the competition annually which enjoys a great international interest. The number of participants since its inception 40 years ago, is more than 6,200 contestants from 100 countries from the different continents of the world.
