Environmental Security Forces Arrest Violator of Environmental Law in Aseer

Riyadh: The Special Forces for Environmental Security arrested a citizen for violating the Environmental Law by failing to comply with instructions and guidelines for preserving vegetation cover after lighting a fire in an undesignated area in the Aseer Region, and legal measures were taken against the violator.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Special Forces for Environmental Security confirmed that lighting fires in undesignated areas of forests and national parks is punishable by a fine of up to SAR3,000. The public is urged to report any cases of environmental or wildlife violations by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern regions, and 999 or 996 in other regions of Saudi Arabia. All reports will be treated with strict confidentiality, and those who report violations will bear no liability.
