Falconry Experience Recreates Traditional Desert Hunting at Saudi Exhibition

Riyadh:The Shalayel pavilion at the International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition 2026 is providing visitors with a unique opportunity to experience a falconry trip through a blend of live performances and visual storytelling. This immersive experience is designed to simulate a traditional desert hunting trip, complete with authentic elements like sand, rocks, plants, and traditional seating arrangements.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the experience begins with a family narrative, where a father and his sons prepare for their journey early in the morning. Visitors learn about the preparation of the falcon's food and are introduced to various falconry tools such as the hood, lure, leash, and scale, as well as their specific uses.

As the day progresses, the family demonstrates how to ready the falcon for the next day's hunt, capturing the essence of an overnight desert stay. The following day, the focus shifts to tracking houbara bustards, culminating in the falcon's release and the successful completion of the simulated hunting trip.

The exhibition, organized by the National Center for Falcons, is ongoing at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, located north of Riyadh, and will run until October 10.
