The first Hajj flight part of the Makkah Route initiative in the People’s Republic of Bangladesh left today for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka. Through the Makkah Route initiative, one of the Saudi Ministry of Interior’s initiatives serving pilgrims, which is also part of the Pilgrim Experience Programme of the Saudi Vision 2030, all procedures needed by pilgrims will be carried out in their own homeland.

The initiative facilitates issuing visas electronically and collecting biometric data, carrying out passport procedures at the airport of the country of departure, including the availability of health requirements, coding and sorting baggage, according to the transportation and accommodation arrangements in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

As soon as pilgrims arrive in the Kingdom, based on the stipulations of the initiative, pilgrims are offered transportation to their places of residence in Makkah and Madinah, and their baggage is delivered to their accommodations.
