The staff of the Federal Integrity Commission in Basra Governorate were able to thwart an attempt to illegally enter containers loaded with materials prohibited from entering Iraq.

It stated in a statement: The staff of the Basra Investigation Directorate, which moved to the port of Umm Qasr - the Basra Gate Customs Center, managed to seize (4) iron containers with a size of (40) cubic feet, and thwarted an attempt to smuggle them into Iraqi territory, because they contained materials that were not authorized to be entered.

She added: (3) containers were loaded with alcoholic beverages that are forbidden to be entered and are not permitted on the / manifest / ship, while the fourth container was loaded with foreign cigarettes intended to be removed from the port without promoting customs treatment with them, in addition to the absence of an import license or any documents related to the goods.
