The Border Crossings Authority announced that it had thwarted an attempt to smuggle Iraqi and foreign money at Al-Qaim border crossing.

The Authority stated in a statement today that the detachments of Al-Qaim Border Crossing Directorate were able to arrest two Iraqi female travelers who tried to smuggle sums of money from the Iraqi currency and hard currency by hiding them in a professional manner and not declaring them, as the total money that was seized amounted to (26,635,000 Iraqi dinars and an amount of (40,000) US dollars in addition to (10,000) Australian dollars.
