Formula 1 has come under fire for ignoring human rights abuses in Bahrain, just days before the start of the 2022 season, The President of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali, was sent a letter by the Bahrain Institute for Rights and Democracy (BIRD) accusing the sporting body of failing to recognise abuses in the Gulf state.
