Fourth Edition of Training Program Introducing Toyota Lean Manufacturing Methodology Concludes in Japan

Tokyo: The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has concluded the fourth edition of the training program introducing the Toyota lean manufacturing methodology, held in Japan, to develop national talent in the industrial sector and enhance their skills in lean manufacturing by benefiting from the experiences of leading industrial nations. The program contributes to improving the efficiency of the Saudi industry and strengthening its global competitiveness.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this edition focused on developing the skills of Saudi professionals working in factory management and production lines. The first phase featured theoretical training introducing participants to Toyota's methodology and its theories of operational excellence in lean manufacturing. The training was delivered by experts through several modules covering the fundamentals of Toyota-style management, production fundamentals, the continuous improvement approach (Kaizen), and building a competitive work team by empowering individuals, managers, and leaders. The second phase included field visits to Japanese factories and companies.

The training program is an extension of the collaboration between the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, under the industrial cooperation memorandum signed between the two ministries. The memorandum includes provisions for developing national talent in the manufacturing sector, equipping them with the skills needed to work with modern technologies, and enhancing their expertise and capacity for innovation and the development of manufacturing technologies. The program also aligns with the Human Capability Development Strategy in the industrial and mining sectors.
